Karol Vanessa Rojas Ramirez
Pancreatic Cancer Research Scientist, UMass Chan Medical School
For over a decade, Karol has studied pancreatic cancer and cellular aging mechanisms at one of the world's leading cancer research institutions. Her work on NAD+ metabolism and sirtuin pathways has been published in peer-reviewed journals and cited by researchers globally.
She started AgeSmarter AI after watching friends and family navigate a supplement market where marketing budgets determined visibility, not scientific merit. Too many people were spending hundreds of dollars monthly on products that couldn't survive basic scrutiny.
AgeSmarter applies the same evidence-based methodology used in clinical research to evaluate consumer supplements and longevity products. If a product can't withstand the same level of scrutiny as a clinical intervention, it doesn't make the list.
Our Scoring Methodology
Every product receives an AgeSmarter Efficacy Score from 0 to 100, calculated from three weighted criteria. The methodology is consistent, transparent, and free from commercial influence.
Clinical Backing
We evaluate the quality and quantity of peer-reviewed human clinical trials. We prioritize randomized controlled trials, adequate sample sizes, and reproducible results. Animal-only or in-vitro studies receive lower weighting.
Bioavailability
A supplement is only as good as what your body can actually use. We assess absorption mechanisms, delivery technology (liposomal, enteric-coated, sublingual), and pharmacokinetic data where available.
Third-Party Testing
We verify whether products are tested by independent, ISO-accredited laboratories for purity, potency, and contaminants. Published Certificates of Analysis and certifications like NSF or USP earn higher scores.
Our Promise
No pay-to-play rankings
Brands cannot pay to appear on our lists or influence their score. Our revenue comes from affiliate links, but our rankings are determined solely by our scoring criteria.
Tradeoffs on every product
Every recommendation includes an honest assessment of downsides — high cost, limited evidence, potential side effects. We believe transparency builds more trust than hype.
Primary research cited
Our evaluations reference published clinical studies, not marketing materials. When evidence is limited, we say so clearly rather than overstating preliminary findings.
